Monday, the 14th
Today was spent on various topics, linked only by our desire to serve the Lord: First, Anto, Pascal, Seweryn and Damjan proposed a reflection on our vow of chastity in celibacy, according to our constitutions and other documents which emphasize the positive and apostolic sense of this free choice. Then Joe offered an historical and personal testimony about the life of Pedro Arrupe, our former Father General, and about his generalate (1965-1983), so important in the recent history of the Society. In the evening, Jim Corkery sj gave us a lecture on the Year of faith, giving a theological approach of what faith is, and also a more pastoral and historical presentation of this Year of Faith for us to understand the context and purpose of this universal work.
