After having read again, together, Ignatius’ Autobiography, we had a beautiful week where each of us would share an episode of his life. A nice way to know each other somewhat better and, on top of that, to see how God works in our lives. By analogy with what happens in Luke’s Gospel and in the Acts, or in the Autobiography, we all make the experience, I believe, that God is the main actor of our strong and vulnerable lives. Or, at least, the main blower….

Paul Pace, SJ

Paul Pace has just started his first year as tertian instructor in Dublin. Paul hails from Malta, where he was born in 1953. He joined the Jesuits in 1977, and spent his formation years in Italy, Tanzania and Spain, from where he obtained a doctorate in moral theology from Comillas University in Madrid. After his return to Malta he was always involved in the University of Malta, first as Chaplain and then as lecturer in moral theology. Between 2005 and 2008 he was also director of the Jesuit Refugee Service in Malta. He was Provincial of Malta twice, first between 1996 and 2002, and then between 2008 and 2014. He was also a member of the 35th General Congregation of the Jesuits held in Rome in 2008.

Róbert Gočala

Róbert was born in 1973 in Martin, in the middle of Slovakia. After secondary school and military service, he worked as a hospital nurse, entering the Society of Jesus in 1996. He studied philosophy and theology in Bratislava, spending regency was in Kosice as supervisor in a Jesuit hostel for two years (2000-2002). Róbert was ordained in 2006 and sent as a spiritual guide in the Retreat House in Prešov.
