arrival_mThe Tertians arrived back in Cardoner House on Easter Monday: some of us quite early, but others rather late. We came from far and near. Steve arrived back from his time at Clongowes Wood College, although more immediately from his trip to Lesotho. George returned from Moyross, Limerick; Nick from Belfast; Attila and Hector from Scotland; Greg from Brussels; Chris from Munich; Stefano from Malta; Adko and MIrek from Armenia; Primoz from La Reunion, and Elémer from as far away as Nepal.
After our journeys, a day off on Easter Tuesday suited everyone! Joe’s absence and the news of his hospitalisation touched all of us. After some practicalities, we moved on to reflect on our Experiments. It was a very rich experience hearing how all the varied experiences and works were so consoling to all. Friday evening we enjoyed a social together, and shared various good things to eat and drink from our placements. The news that we would be able to visit Joe lifted our spirits. Stefano’s family arrived for their visit, and their presence in Cardoner House was a delight to everyone.
After the first weekend back, we entered into the familiar rhythm of Tertianship. Jan introduced the last three parts of the Jesuit Constitutions, and we hosted Terence O’Reilly for a session on Ignatius on the discernment of spirits. The weather was Irish: that is to say, somewhat changeable!
