This morning, the issue was serious and important: the protection of children in Ireland. After Joe shared with us the recent historical background, Joe Grenan, a layman involved in the team responsible for the Irish Jesuit protocol, explained how best to deal with such situations and to be aware of this very important issue. In the second session, Joe introduced us to the spiritual diary of St. Ignatius. Mass, presided by Joe, celebrated the martyrdom of our missionaries in Canada in the seventeenth century. Then, the afternoon was free for personal work, and an haustus after dinner concluded the day.
