The European Tertianship 2012 has just started. On 17 September, a new international Jesuit community became a reality, its members to enjoy the next eight months or so together in Cardoner House at the Jesuit Centre of Spirituality in Dublin.
We are truly an international group: Anto Pavlovic (42) from Croatia; Antun Volenik (40), Croatia; Damjan Ristic (40), Slovenia; Elias Mokua (44), Tanzania – still to arrive; Fernando Antonio (36), Portugal; Jacques Enjalbert (43), France; Barnabas Jakabos (36), Hungary; John Meehan (45), Canada; Jozef Bartkovjak (41), Slovakia; Lucas Chan (44), Hong Kong; Pascal Gauderon (41), France; Seweryn Wasik (39), Poland. And our instructors are Jan van de Poll from the Netherlands and Joe Dargan from Ireland.
The opening celebration of the Eucharist was presided by Fr. Liam O’Connell, socius for the Irish Province. As a delegate of the Provincial, he welcomed the whole group as among brothers in Ireland, in the whole body of the Society of Jesus and of the Church.
For everyone, the first feelings are very positive. We are experiencing the first joys of discovering the beauty of the landscape, the first thanksgiving for those who are given to us as brothers for this year, and the first signs that the One who gathered us here is already fulfilling His promises. So let’s build this new community together. Please keep us in your prayers.
